Business Analyst

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position is responsible for providing analytical services supporting a pharmaceutical sales team.  Leveraging strong Excel and/or SQL skills, the role will provide a weekly reporting suite on field activity and sales performance with associated insights into the results.  In addition, the role will support ad hoc analysis and reporting for sales, marketing, sampling and other related business events.  

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

This position reports directly into the Executive Director, Sales Operations and will be based in Morristown, NJ or remotely.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities of this role include the following:

  • Understand the requirements for reports or analytics needs
  • Development/maintenance of reports – either via SQL, Excel or Access 
  • Automation of reports- whenever possible 
  • QC of all deliverables for accuracy
  • Provision of insights into the sales data/activity and key trends or watch points 
  • Coordinate with Sales Management to analyze alignment related changes 
  • Coordinate with Marketing and support requests for analysis marketing events, Non-Personal Promotion efforts, ROI and samples.
  • Support ad hoc reporting or analysis needs based on sales contests or other related sales events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or a related field 
  • 2-3 years of experience in sales analytics
  • Demonstrated analytical background and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge and experience with Rx, activity and sample data
  • Ability to gather requirements/leverage and provide report / deliverable mockups 
  • Experience creating territory alignments and maps preferred
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills 
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Proven experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools
  • Solid experience in writing SQL queries
  • Extreme proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Veeva a plus
  • Basic knowledge in generating process documentation
  • Competent in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Access
  • Delivery of on-time and accurate reports
  • Good questioning and communication skills
